It has this name because of a Portuguese defender named John Fernandes who wore the beach to fend off frequent attacks by pirates and Indians.

A beautiful beach located on the northeast tip of the peninsula of Bzios, in front of the White Island, is located 2 km from the center of the resort, is a quiet and highly appreciated by visitors to the resort.

Between Ponta Horse Ruco and Joo Fernandinho beach, frequented mainly by international tourism and drive all year round, the beach is shaped like a semicircle, with calm waters, blue and transparent.

Its sands are thin and clear, ideal for swimming and fishing and the practice of sports like snorkelling (with masks and snorkkel), windsurfing, thanks to coastal winds and other sports. Rent bananas (ski), kayaks or boat tours is also a good option.
