The Dam Jurumirim is formed and fed by the Rio Paranapanema, clear and teeming with fish. The name comes from Tupi and Jurumirim means small mouth of a river or small entrance of a bay. The dam is 100 km long and 3 miles wide at some points, containing a volume of water four times greater than the Guanabara Bay in Rio de Janeiro.

Located 20 km from the center of Avare, has 1,800 kilometers of beaches, forming one of the most important scenes tour of the State of Sao Paulo. The region, which has natural white sand beaches, is ideal for practicing various sports including power boating, jet skiing, windsurfing, ballooning and fishing.
