About Boa Vista

Boa Vista is the capital and largest city of the Brazilian state of Roraima. Concentrating about two-thirds of Roraima, situated on the right bank of the Rio Branco. Headquarters of the Metropolitan Region of Boa Vista, is the only Brazilian capital located entirely north of the equator.

Modern, the city stands out among the capitals of the Amazon by urban layout radially organized, planned for the period between 1944 and 1946 by civil engineer Darcy Aleixo Derenusson, resembling a fan, in allusion to the streets of Paris, France. It was built in the government of Captain Ene Garcez, the first governor of the then Federal Territory of Rio Branco.

The main avenues of the city center converge on the Civic Centre Square Nabuco, which concentrates the headquarters of three branches: Legislative, Executive and Judiciary.

In addition to cultural sites (theaters and palaces), hotels, banks, post offices and religious cathedrals. It is a city and administrative typically focuses all state services.
